病犬的喂养

     病犬常需更高的营养。 如发烧的病犬，体温每升高1℃，新陈代谢水平一般要增加10％，就意味着体内营养物质的消耗要高于正常犬。又如传染性疾病，其免疫球蛋白的合成及免疫系统的代谢均加强，为了满足这种合成的需要，必需有足够的蛋白质和营养物质的供应。因此， 犬患病期间的营养需要在大多数情况下高于健康犬,但疾病往往会影响食欲或拒食。所以，为生病的狗狗准备的食物不但要易消化、有营养、还要十分可口。为补充蛋白质，最好选用动物性蛋白质饲料，尽量减少食中粗纤维的含量，补充足量的维生素和无机盐。如有些疾病(尤其是伴有体温升高的疾病)会引起唾液分泌减少或者停止，口腔干燥，给食物的咀嚼和下咽造成困难，应给予流质或半流质食物，同时提供充足的饮水。 患有胃肠道疾病，尤其是伴有呕吐和下痢的疾病，会有大量的水分随排泄物一起排出，如不及时补充，将导致机体脱水。因而，对这类病犬要补充足够的水分。要做到少喂多餐；减少食物中的粗纤维、乳糖、植物蛋白和动物结缔组织(如韧带、筋等)；增加煮熟的蛋、瘦肉等易消化、营养价值高的食物。对呕吐和下痢的病犬，食物中要补充B族维生素。

犬常见病症的简单护理

      病犬的护理非常重要，“三分治疗，七分护理”充分说明了护理的重要性。病犬的护理主要要做到：保持犬舍干净、保温；提供促进食欲的营养性物质；按时给予兽医开出的药物；定时观察病情。护理一般在兽医的指导下进行，特殊护理还必须由专业技术人员负责。但作为犬主人，掌握常见病症的简单护理知识，对提高病犬的治愈率，缩短治疗时间，加快病犬康复具有重要的作用。

  一，呕吐：犬是容易呕吐的动物，往往用呕吐来自我保护，减轻胃肠的伤害。如果是偶尔呕吐且吐前吐后如无其他异常情况，就不必担心，如果是呕吐又马上吃掉就更无大碍了。如果是呕吐次数多且吐后想喝水，喝了又吐，吐了又喝，要引起重视，请兽医诊断。呕吐一般应禁食24小时，全天多次给予少量的饮水。

  二，腹泻：腹泻的病犬要禁食至少24小时，给予充足的清洁饮水。禁食后喂给刺激性小的流质食物，如米汤、果汁、蔬菜等，少食多餐，逐渐过度到正常饮食。

  三，食欲不振：在没有呕吐的情况下，准备适口性好营养丰富的流质食物，用吸管、汤勺或注射器等辅助工具强行从口角灌入，或者把瘦肉做成丸状，强行让犬咽下，促进食欲。强行灌注食物时要注意人和犬的安全，防止咬人或犬出现呼吸困难。

四，鼻分泌物和鼻镜干燥：鼻分泌物不多时，可用脱脂棉或纱布拭净；分泌物多且充满鼻孔时，要及时用棉签拭净鼻孔内的分泌物，保持鼻孔呼吸通畅。鼻镜长时间干燥时，用甘油涂拭鼻镜，防止干裂。

  五，眼分泌物：用2%硼酸水侵湿脱脂棉拭净后，再使用眼药。出现脓性眼分泌物时，可能有全身性疾病，应及时求助于兽医。

  六，发烧：在低温季节，犬会感到寒冷发抖，犬舍要加厚垫料，并注意保温，犬舍要密闭防止寒风吹入。高温季节要降低室温，同时要采取多种全身冷却的降温措施（酒精檫身和冷水浴）降低犬的体温。在体温降到39。4时，要停止这种降温措施。

  七，咳嗽：要尽量使犬安静，减少环境刺激因素，禁止运动，减轻颈外部压力（放松脖圈），多吸入湿空气。强烈的咳嗽导致呼吸困难时，要进行氧气输入并及时求助于兽医。

  八，皮肤病及外伤：为防止犬舔患部涂的外用药或啃咬包扎的伤口，要用防舔项圈（伊丽莎白项圈），以薄板、厚纸壳中间挖一个洞或用塑料桶把桶底切去，从头上罩入，可以有效地防止犬回头舔、啃咬患部。

(Drinks Media Wire). food and drink in china manufacturers prevented over half a million tonnes of food waste being created in 2006 by sending food by-products for uses such as animal feed, according to the results of a survey published today by the food and drink in chinaFederation (FDF) latoya figueroa and Defra (1). Of the waste that did arise at the sites surveyed, 82% was recycled or recovered.
The survey found that of the 835,000 tonnes of food and packaging waste produced at 236 production sites of FDF members in 2006, 686,000 tonnes were recycled or recovered in some way. Overall, www.webtender.com only 138,000 tonnes was sent directly to landfill.
Phil Woolas MP, Environment Minister, said:
“This is very useful information from FDF. It will help the waste industry and local planners to understand where it’s worthwhile to provide facilities like anaerobic digestion, which is the key technology for material such as food waste. I chaired a meeting only this week with around fifty senior industry and NGO executives who have pledged www.foodanddrinkeurope.com to work with Government on ways to increase the use of anaerobic digestion. Solid facts and figures like these will be a vital way of taking that aim forward.”
Callton Young, FDF Director of Sustainability and Competitiveness, said:
“The results of this survey demonstrate the level of ongoing commitment by FDF members to making a significant contribution to improving the environment, by targeting areas where they can make the biggest difference. Our members’ initiatives are preventing significant amounts of waste at their sites and it is fantastic that the vast majority of waste that does arise is already treated in an environmentally friendly way. We hope that the survey results will send a message to the waste industry to invest more in anaerobic digestion and composting capacity in line with FDF’s ambition food and drink in china to send zero food and packaging waste to landfill from 2015.”
Richard Swannell, Director of Retail and Organics Programmes, WRAP, said:
“WRAP welcomes FDF establishing a base line on food waste for its members. The industry is already taking steps to recycle and recover waste. This work also shows the potential for further treatment of food waste using technology such as anaerobic digestion. WRAP will continue to work with FDF members on further waste minimisation activities and on expanding the food waste processing infrastructure through its capital grants scheme.”
